Revelation 19:16 – On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND Lord OF LordS. (NIV)

Several months ago, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Before we left home, many of our friends gave us long lists of the various shows that were available — and told us which ones to see. Included on one such list was the Eddie Miles Show. We had never heard of Eddie Miles before, but when we asked, we were told that he performed a "Salute to Elvis" programme that was terrific.

When we arrived in Myrtle Beach, we followed the advice of our friends. We quickly arranged for tickets to many of the recommended shows, including tickets to the Eddie Miles Show.

We were certainly not disappointed. All of the shows were great, but the Eddie Miles Show is the one that we'll never forget. While there are probably hundreds of Elvis impersonators, Eddie is undoubtedly one of the best. He had over a hundred songs in his repertoire, and he performed them very well. In fact, he was so good that on numerous occasions during the show, you could just close your eyes, and you'd really think that you were listening to the King himself. We would certainly recommend the Eddie Miles Show to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.

I wonder if we could just as easily recommend Jesus to our friends and neighbours. Do we get excited when we read God's holy word? Do we feel His closeness when we pray? Do we make time for Him? If we close our eyes and listen carefully, can we hear the King?

Prayer: Our God and Father, open our hearts and our minds to Your word. Help us to get excited and tell others about Jesus. Help us to pray. Help us to hear the King. In Jesus' name. Amen.
