Blessed Crash

November 18, 1999

Matthew 6:33 – Search, in the first place, His kingdom and His justice, and the others things will be given.

On May 16th, I woke up late, so I missed the church's worship. Instead of that, I stayed at home, watching the F1 Grand Prix. After that I left home, going towards my work office, because I had won a computer, and I needed the Windows CD-ROM to restore some programmes. I did not find it, so I came back home. In the afternoon I returned to the work office. Again I couldn't find it. I was pretty upset. So, I was driving very fast — 130 km/h (about 85 M.P.H.). Suddenly a man in a bike crossed my way, and I crashed into a wall.

From that time until I reached the hospital I could not remember anything. In the hospital, I could feel and grasp what was my real situation. I had my collar bone (shoulder) broken, my knee was injured, and my ankle was twisted. I was belonging to death, so I had a great experience with God. I used to live very well, so I did not give importance to my relationship with God. I used to go to the church every Sunday, sing and pray, but I should have given all of my life to Jesus.

When I was in the hospital's bed, I could feel how great Jesus was, so then I gave him all my life, all my thoughts, all my body and all my soul. I can testify that when you give your life, completely, to Jesus, you can feel the changes.

Prayer: Our God, our Father, thanks for all challenges You have put in our lives, so we can prove Your greatness. Forgive our faults, and help us to live only for You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
