Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me. (KJV)
About the time I was barely old enough to see over the steering wheel of our old "International Harvester" truck, I remember my dad telling me that once I was old enough to drive, and driving at night, to keep my eyes focused on the white line to the right, when facing oncoming traffic. "That way", he said, "you won't be blinded by the other driver's lights and end up in an accident."
That bit of knowledge has saved me many a time, especially now when my middle-aged eyes seem to respond to the bright lights of night, and their reflections in the rain, in a much different manner than when I was younger.
No matter what we do in life, our school work, our jobs, our homework, housework, our relationships, we need to focus on where we're headed and how best to get there. More and more outside distractions flood into our everyday life.
When we approach whatever we do with Christ as our first focus, the objectives we want to attain become clearer.
Prayer: Our Father in heaven, may we approach each day, and each thing we do throughout our day, with you in mind. May we meet our daily demands in the way in which you would have us accomplish them. In your name we pray. Amen.
