- If I had the wisdom of Solomon,
the patience of John,
the meekness of Moses,
the strength of Sampson,
the obedience of Abraham,
the compassion of Joseph,
the tears of Jeremiah,
the poetic skill of David,
the prophetic voice of Elijah,
the courage of Daniel,
the greatness of John the Baptist,
the endurance and love of Paul,
I would still need redemption through Christ's blood,
the forgiveness of sin.
- R.L. Wheeler
Do not be deceived, you are where you are thanks to the grace of God. Perhaps you did work, study, run, try, reach, bend, crawl, cry, jump, fly as if everything depended on you; but make no mistake; it really all depends on Him and the faith that you put into Him, not in yourself. If you think of your darkest hour and your greatest triumph, the thing that got you through was always knowing that God was with you. It was to Him that your prayers were sent, not to yourself. It was to Him that you cried out over injustice, bad luck, failed friends and marriages, bad circumstances and trials that had gone on too long, not to yourself. It is His promise never to leave or forsake you, never to stop loving you, that has pulled you through. It is knowing the price that He paid, that has proven time and again just how much love He has for you, that has enabled you to move mountains, hold out a little longer, stand a little taller and move forward. Praise God!
Ecclesiastes 2:11 – Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labour which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun.
Prayer: Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
