Hebrews 3:13 – But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
- Have you ever considered that you may be the only Holy Book, sacred text, Bible that somebody reads today? Has it ever dawned on you that you may be the only sermon someone hears this week? What are you showing them? What are you saying to them? God knows people are always listening to what you say and what you do. In other words God speaks to other people through you. People watch me in order to hear God.
- From Iyanla Vanzant's
Our everyday actions are seen by others and they judge and are reminded of our Father by His children and their actions; they look for signs of Him in us. We might think that this applies to strangers or those who aren't saved; but this also applies to those who are close to us. Many times our friends need to see God in us more than anyone. When friends stumble and fall they need someone to pick them up. Often when we see someone making the same mistakes over and over again we become discouraged with them and often turn away in frustration. We think that as Christians they should know better and have trouble understanding why they continue repeating bad patterns, disobeying God and hurting themselves.
It is at this time, more than any other that they need to hear God in us and see Him in our actions towards them. Just as He commands, we should not judge. Just as He asks, we should take their burdens upon ourselves and pray for them. With each opportunity presented to us remind them, by being faithful to His word, of the path that they have strayed from. Our Father's love is constant and His forgiveness has no boundaries, neither should ours.
- Let me be a little kinder,
Let me be a little blinder
To the faults about me;
Let me praise a little more,
Let me be, when I am weary;
Just a little bit more cheery,
Let me serve a little better
Those that I am striving for.
Let me be a little braver
When temptation bids me waver,
Let me strive a little harder
To be all that I should be;
Let me be a little meeker
To the brother that is weaker,
Let me think more of my neighbour
And a little less of me.
Ephesians 4:32 – And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Matthew 7:1 – Do not judge lest you be judged.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help those who see me to see You in me by changing my heart and my ways to Yours. Show me, Master, the speck in my eye and help me to have courage to correct it so that when I see the speck in the eye of my friend I will be able to serve as a supporter, comforter, and example to him in his hour of need. Humble my heart that I may be able to love others as you do me. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
