Clean It Up

Listen while you read: "Near To The Heart Of God"1 (Lyrics)

Psalm 51:7,10 – Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

You and I are called to develop a climate of belief in which the fruitful aspects of the spirit can be manifest. If this climate exists many aspects of life will naturally care for themselves.

When we moved to Canton, the lot next to us was vacant and had been used as a dumping ground for years. The weeds were several feed high and the amount of rubbish on it was amazing. I began to clean up this lot. During the winter when the weeds were dead, I put the rubbish in piles. During the spring I would pull the weeds as they began to grow.

We ended up owning the lot. It was then that I had a bulldozer in to clear it. The man clearing the lot took away twenty ton-loads of rush from it.

Now the interesting thing to me is that today it is a beautiful lot. I never planted on ounce of grass seed on it. Yet I have a beautiful stand of grass. All I did was to clean up the mess and I had beauty. All the believing in the world would not have made the lot beautiful. I had to clean it up first.

Your faith will be stronger and your life more victorious if you would rid yourself of all that hinders your believing. Clean out the weeds in your life and let the fruit grow to God's glory. Believe that He will help you do this.

Prayer: Remove all trash from my life, Father. May I be willing to have You do this today. Amen.
