Return To The Heart

Matthew 6:20 – Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Brother Roger, founder of the Taize community, once reflected:

Every human being yearns to be loved as well as to love. It is not for nothing that the Gospel alerts us about not becoming locked up in isolation. When we are listened to, obstacles fall away that were created by frustrations of the heart, wounds from a recent or distant past. Being listened to is the beginning of a healing of the soul (and a return to the heart).

I don't know if you've spent half a lifetime creating a wall around your heart or if you simply vacated the place altogether, but more and more in the modern world it is becoming obvious that people are experiencing alienation from their emotional and spiritual selves, and the result has been a sickness of the soul that has affected everything from

    personal health
    to family relations
    to community affairs.

It is time for a return to the heart and the wonderful news is that God is waiting there for you.

Prayer: Your love for us is so amazing and so divine that we turn to you today and offer you our love and our lives in return. Accept our offering today and always. Amen.
