I Am Who I Am

Philippians 4:13 -I can do (be) all things through Christ who strengthens me.
John 3:6-7 -What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, "You must be born from above."

"You do not have to be your mother unless she is who you want to be. You do not have to be your mother's mother, or your mother's mother's mother, or even your grandmother's mother on your father's side. You may inherit their chins or their hips or their eyes, but you are not destined to become the women who came before you. You are not destined to live their lives. So if you inherit something, inherit their strength, their resilience. Because the only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." (Pam Finger)

The wonderful thing about God is that in Christ we can become ever new. We are not condemned to walk in footsteps that lead nowhere. We are invited to follow in the steps of the Master who leads us to a new life, a life which begins with a birth from above.

Prayer: Take me today and transform me into the new creation I can become in Christ. Amen.
