The Journey's End

John 14:2,4 – You know the place where I am going… I go to prepare a place for you.

Our shared journey through Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress this past week is quickly coming to an end. As I get ready to close, I want to thank you for listening to "the journey" as seen through the eyes of Bunyan's character, Christian, in Pilgrim's Progress. Also, thank you for listening to me babble on about my own journey as I have reflected on it through Christian's experience.

I'm a Star Trek fan from way back. Awhile ago we saw the last episode of the Next Generation. It was aptly called "The Journey's End", and that is where we leave Christian, with the journey finished, the destination reached, and the city sighted. You still have a way to go on your journey. May you journey faithfully to the end and find that place that God has prepared for each one of us.

Please take this away with you – that it is the Lord your God who goes with you and the Lord will never fail you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage. Joshua 1:5-6

Prayer:
This is another day, O God.
I know not what it will bring forth,
but make me ready.
If I am to stand, help me to stand bravely.
If I am to sit, help me to sit quietly.
If I am to lie in bed, help me to do so patiently;
And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly.
Make these words more than words, and give me the spirit of Jesus.
Amen.
