Luke 19:9-10 – Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." (NIV)

Over the years, I've developed a problem, not a serious problem, but an annoying one. My one consolation is that I have learned I'm not alone. My quandary must be catching, for some of my friends suffer from the same symptoms. This revelation came about when I was on a shopping expedition with my friend. Noting the time of day, we hurried to the parking lot to find our car, and that's when we discovered that we both suffer from the misplaced keys syndrome. After a frantic search, my friend looked in the car, and sure enough, the culprit keys were locked inside.

Fortunately, my friend has a gadget in her car that makes certain she is never lost or locked out. She was able to make a phone call, and the recipient of her call was able to locate her car by using the Global Positioning System. GPS is a system of satellites that triangulate the position of a vehicle, giving its location to within a few metres of its place on the face of the earth. Once her vehicle was located, the one in the GPS office was able to beam back a code which unlocked the car door, and we were able to retrieve her keys and go home to our waiting families.

It's taken scientists a long time to perfect a system whereby a car or a person can be located if they are using GPS, but God has used it since creation to find His people. In the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve tried to hide, God found them. When it seems like we are standing helpless in a parking lot, and our lives are going nowhere, God finds us. All we have to do is call out to Him, and He will send us help.

Prayer: Dear God, we marvel at Your great love. Thank You for hearing our call and for sending us help when we feel lost in this world. Amen.
