All Will Be Made Clear

2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (NIV)

A little girl who is very important to me lost most of the sight in her right eye, due to an illness. In an effort to try to improve the vision in her weak eye, she had to wear a patch over the eye that had normal sight. This was to make the weak eye stronger. It was very frustrating for her, when all she had to do, was tear away the patch and be able to see what appeared to her to be "normally".

This situation made me think of ourselves, when we seem to have full control. Then something unforeseen interrupts the smooth path of our daily lives. Perhaps something or someone that we depend on is taken away from us.

It is like having a patch over our good eye and having to struggle along in a weakened condition. We would love to take away the patch and see as before. We lose patience and become frustrated with life, even fearful, wondering if we will ever get our lives together and see as we once did. Most likely we never will. We have to accept what we have and go on as best we can.

Here is when our dependency on our own strength fails, when we know God. He is our assurance and our strength, the One we can depend on in time of loss. He will give us the strength and vision to carry on. Though our sight is not the same, it will be sufficient and He will be the good eye we depend on, though it be covered for a time. One day the cover will be removed and all will be made clear to us.

1 Corinthians 13:12 – For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (KJV)

Prayer: Lord God, give us the vision You know we need to see what You want us to see. Give us patience, always trusting in You, knowing all will be made clear to us, in Your timing. Amen.
