Listen to this devotional:
Listen while you read: "Amazing Grace"1 (Lyrics)

"Return to Me." I heard a voice speaking from somewhere.

When I first started writing for the PresbyCan Daily Devotional, I was inspired. I wrote, or more importantly, I was granted inspiration to share what God had done in my life. Seeing the stories and experiences as devotional material was granted in abundance. But over the years, inspiration didn't come as often as it had in the past, and writing became less and less.

I asked my fellow writers to pray for me. I waited for God to hit me over the head, to fill my cup to overflowing, but it was not meant to be. I was expecting a miracle to happen without my having to do anything. Although miracles do happen, sometimes, we have to sacrifice our time and set our priorities. My problem was that I didn't spend time alone with God or read His Word.

2 Timothy 3:16 – The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. (TLB)

Isaiah 44:22 – I have wiped out your transgressions like a thick cloud, and your sins like a heavy mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. (NASB)

There will always be something or someone that will try to rob us of this special time alone with our Saviour. Hopefully, we will recognize our intruders for who they really are: deterrents from inspiration and peace.

Are you spiritually dry? Are you seeking direction? Return to the One Who redeemed you.

Prayer: Lord God, forgive us again for not spending time with You. Help us to recognize the culprits that come into our minds and hearts to try to keep us away from reading Your Word and praying. Amen.

    Amen Rosemary.

    Thanks for the challenge Rosemary.

    Dear Rosy,
    Yes, well, guilty.

    Thank you Rosy.
This is a reminder we all need.

Thank you for always returning to the Lord, Rosemary, and for always sharing your walk with us through your devotionals. You are a blessing to all your readers… including me!

Hang in there, Rosy. It’s a race, but the winner is not the fastest.
Rather it’s the one who perseveres.
    Bless you.

    Hi Rosemary,
Well done! Great reminder that we have an active role to play in our relationship with God. Keep on writing!
    Blessings.

    Hi Rosy,
I can relate to that. Right now I am going through a dry spell but I don’t think it’s because I am separated from God or Jesus. I have had this .
I prayed and I am waiting for the Spirit to move me.
Thank you for your good words.

Oh, Rosemary, how I related to this devotional today. I’ve been in a funk feeling dry as a Wadi in the Negev desert. I asked the Lord to forgive me for letting other stuff crowd time with God. I asked Him to fill me again with His Presence, His mercy, His grace, His peace. Then my Bible reading and your devotional washed away angst and peace flowed in. Thanks for writing and sharing this message with us. Blessings.

Than you, Rosemary, for your very special Devotional.
    Every Blessing on your day.

    Hi Rosy
I was pleased that you found “God’s Way” once more.
I shall look forward to your upcoming Devotional’s as they appear on the Daily.
Personally, I miss writing but glad to know there are enough Christian writers to fill the gap!
Keep up the good work. I pray for the Daily and especially Robin and all the wonderful work he has devoted over the years.
    God bless.
