The Peace That Was Meant To Be

Isaiah 52:7 – How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" (NIV)

After ten years and more of going to Florida, we spent last year's winter season in central Ontario, Canada.

When it started to snow, I found that I had never lost the excitement that comes with the first snowfall! Likewise I have never lost the excitement in the expectancy of the coming of Christmastime and the arrival of Jesus.

The snow, which falls softly and covers the land, comes and brings a sense of peace to us all, especially to those looking out from the inside. Likewise, along with the excitement of Christmas, there is a certain comfort and quietness, a calming feeling of peace from within.

Here we receive and experience the message of Christmas that announces that peace, and proclaims the good news of our salvation.

Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, may we continue to seek peace in Jesus, the peace that was meant to be. As we pray, may we experience once more an inner peace that passes all understanding, a peace that can only come from You. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
